Corby Macdonald
Vickers Young were established in 2012 by our Managing Director Corby Macdonald. With a wealth of mortgage and protection experience, especially in the self employed and adverse credit market, Corby felt it was time to set up a company that reflected his own ethics of putting the client first and trying our very best to help everyone, even those who may have had a blip in their lives. Still intent on growing the business further, Corby continues to drive the company forward and is looking to expand across the country. Corby is also the Commercial Director for his local Football Club Gresley Rovers, who are famed for reaching Wembley in the FA Vase final in 1991. In his spare time, he likes to collect and research Military medals.
Paul Kale
Paul has been involved in the property industry since graduating from university in 2010 and brings a varied skillset to the sector. In addition to building and managing a property portfolio, he has gained experience working in both Property Finance & Business Development. After completion of his MBA in Business, Paul latterly managed a business growth function in mortgages and life protection before moving to his advisory role.
Paul’s hobbies include football, he is an avid Arsenal fan (Don’t hold it against him!) Snooker, as well as travelling back to his heritage in Cameroon, West Africa. Paul advises on all aspects of mortgages and protection and his specialist expertise lies in Let to Buy and Buy to Let, where he can advise extensively on landlord concerns and property hotspots.
Paul Duffield
Paul qualified as a book-keeper in 1986 and then enjoyed a long and successful career in estate agency in the South East of England.
He moved into financial services in 2005, specialising in mortgages. As a landlord himself, Paul understands the challenges and opportunities of the buy-to-let market. Paul prides himself on being tenacious and getting his clients moved by forming effective relationships with other advisors and considers himself to be a rounded property and mortgage professional.
With a wife, a son and a crazy cockapoo to keep him busy, finding spare time to watch his beloved football club (ask him which team!) is a distant memory.
James Wells
Living in Berkshire and after a long career in aviation and with a keen interest in property and investments it only seemed natural to combine my customer service skills with my ability to source the right deals for your individual circumstances, in just about anything to focus on the funding of property and become a fully qualified mortgage and protection broker.
Having been through several house purchases and sales, as well as being a BTL landlord himself, James knows what is required to get the house of your dreams with the least amount of stress as possible. When I’m not working hard helping people realise their dreams in the property world, I can often be found on the golf course or travelling somewhere new and exciting to tick off that all important list - I also have keen interests in motorsport, as well as football.
Lisa Hibberd
Lisa started her career in Finance when she studied for her degree in Accounting and Finance at De Montfort University.
After graduating Lisa then spent over 15 years working in the finance industry initially as an Accountant, then as Business Growth and Internal Communication Manager, finally ending as Finance Director.
During her latter role, she decided to make a shift and started retraining, completing the CeMAP qualifications and making the move into Mortgage Advisory.
Lisa is passionate about really getting to know and understand her clients and their needs, and diligently works hard whilst effectively communicating with lenders to get the best outcomes.
Outside of work, Lisa is busy with a husband, a son and a daughter, cat and rabbits, of which she lovingly refers to herself as their unpaid P.A.
Bedsides family life, Lisa enjoys going to the gym, socialising and looks forward to holidays

Amy enjoys attending to her garden and animals, and also enjoys creating things in her spare time.
Joseph Woods-Libby
After being an estate agent for 3 years, holding nearly every position within the branch, the pandemic allowed me the time to complete my professional qualification and I’ve been advising for the last 3 years.
I know all to well the struggles of buying a home and it's my aim to make the process as smooth as possible for my clients.
Outside of work, I am usually found on the Golf course or at the nearest restaurant.
Claire Flanagan
Claire started working in the finance industry 17 years ago, working with local governments. This has given her a deep knowledge of helping, understanding clients with their finances, with this background, she decided to take step into the mortgage world, where she has found her natural home. Great with first time buyers, understanding their needs and making their dreams come true.
Married with 2 young children, Claire is based in the Newark area and will be covering the East Midlands.

Starting with Nat West and their acknowledged industry leading training before moving to being a whole of market mortgage advisor.

Harj is a dedicated father who cares for his young son, as well as providing an outstanding service to his clients. Harj is based in the West Midlands, but, is happy to deal with clients throughout the country
